ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND: Bello Machre is pleased to announce its newest Board Member, William Niland effective September 12, 2011.

 

Dr. Robert T. Ireland, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bello Machre, commented, “It’s an honor to have Bill on the Bello Machre Board of Directors. I’m certain that he will bring a new vision and perspective to further strengthen the board leadership at Bello Machre.”

 

Currently William Niland serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors and as the Chief Business Development Officer of Vapotherm, Inc., a privately held company based in Stevensville, Maryland. The company is dedicated to the development, manufacture, and marketing of respiratory devices that improve clinical outcomes, reduce overall delivery costs and improve quality of life for patients. The company’s breakthrough technology centers on the benefits of high flow delivery of breathing gases through a patented process for heating and humidification.

 

As an entrepreneur and successful businessman, Mr. Niland’s 20 plus year career has been exclusively in the healthcare industry. The first 10 years were spent with Mediq/PRN, Becton-Dickinson, and Oxygen Enrichment Company where he held sales and marketing positions. Subsequently, Mr. Niland started and successfully managed two healthcare companies. His first venture, Mobile Metabolic Associates (MMA), provided bedside nutritional assessments on nursing home patients utilizing sophisticated metabolic monitoring equipment. One of the first to offer such services, MMA was sold by Mr. Niland to Mediq Mobile X-ray during its second year of operation. In 1992, Mr. Niland founded Advanced Sleep Technologies, which evolved into National Sleep Technologies (NST), at the time, the largest sleep diagnostic and therapy company in the United States. He managed and raised capital for NST’s growth to over $12 million in annual sales through internal means and 10 completed acquisitions. NST was eventually sold to Vital Signs, Inc. In 1997, Mr. Niland and his partners, Dr. William and Molly Cirksena, acquired the rights to the Vapotherm technology and co-founded the Company.

 

Mr. Niland holds a Bachelors degree in Law/Justice from Rowan University Glassboro, New Jersey. He is married and lives in Arnold, Maryland. He has two grown children.
