Loving Care & Support for Individuals with Epilepsy in Maryland
Supporting Individuals with Epilepsy of All Ages
Bello Machre provides comprehensive support to individuals with Epilepsy at every stage of life.
From children & teens to adults and seniors, Bello Machre connects individuals with epilepsy to the people, programs, and services that ensure a lifetime of care and support.
Our person-centered approach prioritizes the aspirations of each individual at every stage of life, rather than focusing solely on the diagnosis. We recognize that epilepsy affects people differently—whether they are living alone with epilepsy or exploring group home options—and we embrace an innovative and flexible approach to care.
We tailor our services to include specialized resources, support for families, and personalized accommodations to meet the needs of individuals living with epilepsy and other seizure disorders. Within our group homes and residential care settings, we ensure that safety, comfort, and dignity are always prioritized.
From employment opportunities and meaningful careers to stable housing and daily support from dedicated staff members, Bello Machre empowers individuals and families with the tools they need to thrive.
Group Homes for People with Epilepsy
Residential Group Homes provide adults with epilepsy and other seizure disorders a safe, nurturing environment where they can feel secure and supported. Our residential group homes offer personalized support in small, community-based settings—typically housing three to four individuals per home.
These accommodations are thoughtfully designed with comfort, accessibility, and appropriate epilepsy resources and safety measures in mind—including the use of adaptive equipment to meet each person’s unique needs. At our residential care homes, dedicated staff provide compassionate assistance, empowering individuals to grow, thrive, and live life to their fullest potential.
Community Services for Individuals with Epilepsy
Community Development Services (CDS)
Our Community Development Services (CDS) program offers engaging, community-based day programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Each day is thoughtfully planned to include social, recreational, and educational activities tailored to individual interests and goals.
With a 1:4 staff-to-individual ratio, our team provides the personalized support each person needs to thrive. Transportation is included, helping individuals access a variety of meaningful experiences throughout the community.
CDS is more than just a day program—it’s a chance for adults with developmental disabilities to build friendships, strengthen communication and interpersonal skills, and take important steps toward greater independence in a welcoming, group setting.
Employment SErvices
At Bello Machre, we help adults with developmental disabilities find meaningful, community-based employment that aligns with their interests and strengths. Our Employment Services include personalized job coaching, job development, on-site training and support, and assistance securing long-term employment opportunities.
Whether someone is just entering the workforce or looking to grow in their current role, we offer temporary 1:1 job coaching and ongoing employment supports to help each person succeed—not just on the job, but in building a future of confidence, skill, and independence.
We provide services Monday through Friday, including evenings and weekends (excluding overnights). Transportation to and from the workplace is arranged using public transportation options such as MTA Mobility (Anne Arundel County) and CTS (Carroll County). Our team also helps individuals explore and learn alternative transit solutions as needed.
Personal Supports
Personal Supports offer one-on-one assistance to individuals with epilepsy of all ages, helping them build essential life skills such as preparing meals, managing personal hygiene, and creating daily routines, while also ensuring access to epilepsy resources and accommodations tailored to individual needs. Our staff works closely to promote active community engagement—gardening, visiting local libraries, exploring community resources, or attending events—while also strengthening social connections and independence.
Respite Care is an additional service within our Personal Supports, offering family support so that loved ones can access a much-needed, short-term break while ensuring continuity of care.
Building Independence, Career Opportunities, and Lifelong Learning for Individuals with Epilepsy
Through Personal Supports Services, Bello Machre helps individuals with epilepsy develop independent living skills such as meal preparation, cooking, doing laundry, using mobility aids, navigating public transportation, and managing finances.
Our Community Services offer engaging programs that enrich lives through activities promoting personal and professional growth. Small groups with shared interests and abilities determine how they’ll spend their days. Physical exercise options like fitness and yoga, creative outlets such as arts and crafts, and skill-building opportunities like volunteer work are all available.
“Bello Machre had helped Zach even before he was officially in the program, so I wanted to continue with them. It felt like a caring, loving organization that really supports individuals. Now, with their help, Zach’s able to be out in the community and doing what he loves most—being social.”
–Angie, mother of a Community Services recipient with epilepsy
