March Was Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
This past March we celebrated Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM)!
Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is celebrated to raise awareness and support for people with developmental disabilities.
Throughout March, we shared stories and videos on our social media and website that celebrated the people we support.
Our theme for the month was Exploring Dreams & Personal Goals.
Acquaint yourself with Kelly, Eric, and Samantha to learn more about how Bello Machre helped them explore their dreams and personal goals.
Did You Take the Pledge?
In addition, we invited everyone to take the Bello Machre Pledge – a commitment to creating a more inclusive community so that all people, feel safe and welcome to grow and succeed.
You can still do it! To take the pledge, you can post the pledge text or a video of yourself saying the pledge on your social media account and use the hashtag #DDAM2024.
You can also tag us @BelloMachre on Facebook or Instagram!
Donations will be used to further advance Bello Machre’s mission to build inclusive communities and provide a lifetime of loving care for those with developmental disabilities.
It’s that simple!
The Bello Machre Pledge
The Bello Machre Pledge reads:
I pledge to create a supportive and inclusive environment in my community so that people of all abilities feel welcome and safe.
I believe that every person deserves opportunities to achieve their full potential and have access to a strong support system.
I will treat everyone with dignity, respect, and kindness, and do my part to build a community where all people can live a rich and meaningful life.
