Bello Machre’s Board of Directors (July 2018)


Bello Machre is pleased to announce the election of its two newest Board Members, Donald Parsons, Senior Vice President of the Community Bank of the Chesapeake and Matthew Lewis, Executive Director of The Y in Pasadena.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome our newest Board members, Don Parsons and Matt Lewis,” says Shari Devlin, Chair of the Bello Machre Board of Directors. “Don and Matt are excellent additions to the Bello Machre family! We are so grateful for their willingness to serve.”

Donald Parsons holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Sellinger School of Business at The Loyola College in Maryland and is a graduate of the Leadership Maryland Class of 2000. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the not-for-profit Blue Cross-Blue Shield insurance companies, CareFirst, Inc. and CareFirst of Maryland, Inc. and served more than two decades as the Chairman of the Board of the College of Southern Maryland Foundation and as President of the Board and Executive Director of Patuxent Habitat for Humanity.

“As Senior Vice-President of the Community Bank of the Chesapeake, Don understands and has supported Bello Machre’s residential requirements,” said Devlin. “He has worked as a partner in securing funding for our construction efforts. He is a generous financial supporter of Bello Machre. As a member of the Bello Machre Board of Directors, Don will be involved in strategic planning and goal setting. We look forward to drawing upon Don’s vast experience in growing our organization.”

Mr. Parsons lives in Huntingtown, Maryland with his wife, Jacquelyn, and their youngest son, Chester. In all, Mr. Parsons and his wife have been blessed with four children and nine grandchildren.

“I am very excited to be a part of an organization that has been a consistent resource for the community,” said Matthew Lewis, Executive Director of The Y in Pasadena and newest member to join the Bello Machre Board of Directors. “The programs and services offered are inspiring and I am honored to be a part of the impact Bello Machre is making.”

Originally from California and raised in Fairfax, Virginia, Matthew Lewis served as a member of the YMCA’s USA’s Talent and Knowledge Management Advisory Board from 2012-2016 and is currently the Executive Director of The Y in Pasadena. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Recreation Administration/Sports Management from Virginia Wesleyan University.

Devlin adds, “Matt brings a wealth of experience in working with community organizations [and] is a dedicated volunteer and proven leader. He brings to the Board a wealth of knowledge, drawing upon his experience as Executive Director of the Y in Pasadena. His enthusiasm and expertise will strengthen the Board’s community ties and aid us in forging new partnerships to better support the wonderful people that we serve.”

Mr. Lewis enjoys golf in his free time and currently lives in Annapolis with his wife and college sweetheart, Jennifer.
