As March 2025 approaches, we are excited to kick off Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month with our theme: Creating Pathways to Independence.

At Bello Machre, we believe that independence looks different for everyone. Whether learning a new skill, landing a first job, making choices about daily living, or finding a supportive and inclusive community, independence is about creating opportunities for growth, empowerment, and self-advocacy.

Why “Creating Pathways to Independence” Matters

For individuals with developmental disabilities, independence is a journey—not a destination. It takes community support, dedicated effort, time spent practicing, and opportunities that empower individuals to reach their unique goals. With this theme, we’re highlighting how we can all play a role in paving the way for these opportunities.

This March, we’re asking you to join us in raising awareness and taking meaningful steps to ensure that people with developmental disabilities have the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive.

How You Can Get Involved in DDAM

1. Take the Pledge: Show your support by committing to create a more inclusive community. Pledge to advocate, educate, and engage with those around you to open doors for individuals with developmental disabilities.
   
2. Spread Awareness: Follow Bello Machre on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn throughout March to hear inspiring stories, learn practical ways to promote independence, and share posts that encourage others to join the movement.
   
3. Support Bello Machre: Your contributions directly impact our ability to provide housing, employment services, and community-based supports that empower individuals and their families to lead fulfilling lives. Donate today to make a difference!
   
4. Celebrate Success Stories: Throughout the month, we’ll be spotlighting the incredible individuals we serve and their journeys toward independence. These stories remind us that every pathway is unique but equally worth celebrating.

For over 50 years, Bello Machre has focused on the mission of providing a lifetime of loving care and opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. From residential care and Ray of Hope services to employment support and community connections, everything we do is rooted in our mission to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to lead full, meaningful lives.
