Bello Machre offers children, adults, and seniors with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) access to the people, programs, and services required for a lifetime of loving care. Our person-first model focuses on the individual and their desired outcomes – not the diagnosis. We understand that ASD encompasses a broad spectrum, and we are innovative and progressive in our approach. Bello Machre delivers customized support, services and residential programs based on the unique needs and desires of each person we serve.

Group Homes for People with Autism

Bello Machre’s Residential Services create safe, welcoming group homes for adults with autism and other intellectual disabilities, ages 21 and older. Residents live in small households of three to four people, enjoying a sense of community while receiving live-in caregiver support. Our internal Nursing Department provides added support to ensure consistent, person-centered care.

Every home emphasizes independence, fun, and meaningful engagement. Residents share meals, pursue hobbies, and participate in community activities, while caregivers provide guidance and encouragement. Families can trust that their loved ones are thriving in a home built on community, connection, and personal growth.

Employment Services

“Finding employment was just the first piece that Bello Machre supported. Ongoing job coaches stop in periodically to check on Jared and get feedback. His employment specialist facilitates Jared’s discussions with work regarding scheduled time off, concerns, annual performance reviews, scheduling questions, and more.”

Residential and Community Living in Maryland

Residential Services are designed to build skills and provide support within a group home setting. Group homes for adults with autism can include shared-living houses, specialized housing communities, or co-habitation with or away from family.

At Bello Machre, group home options are available through our Residential Services, which offer living opportunities in small communities of three to four people, where caregivers are available onsite to assist and provide opportunities for social connection, hobbies, building confidence and creating friendships. Our group home residents benefit from a range of creative and practical activities designed to match their needs, goals, and abilities, which can span socialization, skill building, personal time, and wellness.

Bello Machre’s Residential Services program for individuals with autism and other developmental disorders currently operates 50 handicap-accessible group homes within Carroll and Anne Arundel Counties. For more information, our  two local Maryland offices can be found in Glen Burnie and Westminster.

Community-Based Day Programs and Meaningful Day Services

Yes, community-based activities are available on their own or are often included in residential services programs. These activities offer a valuable chance to build social skills and independence in real community environments.

Every individual with autism who is part of Bello Machre’s Residential Services program has the option to participate in day programs outside in the community as part of our Community Development Services. Those not part of our residential services program also have the opportunity to take part. Transportation is provided, and each day is structured around social, recreational, and educational activities that build confidence, foster friendships, and support personal growth.

Employment Support for Adults with Autism

Employment services support adults with autism by providing personalized support and resources that help build work skills, maintain employment, and connect individuals with inclusive workplaces. This can include training, career counseling, and transportation assistance.

At Bello Machre, we provide dedicated community-based employment services that focus on individual interests, talents, and job aspirations. Our services help people with autism and other developmental disabilities achieve meaningful employment and career success.
