“They’ve met every expectation I could imagine for my daughter. We’ve lived in three different states, and this is the best program she’s ever been in. Not a day goes by that we’ve ever had a regret. We’ve watched her grow in her independence, her speech, and her confidence. Seeing her enjoy something this much tells us we chose the right place.”

-Karen, mother of Courtney, who receives Community Development Services and Residential Services through Bello Machre.

Yes. Bello Machre offers group home residential services in Maryland that support adults with Fragile X syndrome. Our group homes are small, community-based living settings serving three to four people, with caregivers available onsite to provide daily support.

Individuals living in our homes receive personalized supports based on their strengths, goals, and needs. Our focus is on creating a supportive, inclusive environment where residents can build confidence, maintain meaningful relationships, and grow in independence.

Individuals with Fragile X syndrome may be eligible for residential and community services through Bello Machre if they meet Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) eligibility requirements.

Bello Machre is an approved vendor of Self Directed Services for individuals interested in receiving Employment Services and Community Development Services. Adults with Fragile X syndrome who are age 21 and over, have been determined eligible by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), and have been assigned a Coordinator of Community Services (CCS) may be considered for residential and day program services.

Eligibility and service availability are based on individual needs, goals, and funding. To get started or learn more, we encourage families to visit our Admissions page.

Residential and Community Living in Maryland

Daily life in a Bello Machre group home is structured, supportive, and community focused. Residents are supported by caring staff with daily routines such as cooking, cleaning, and household tasks, while being encouraged to participate and build independence at their own pace.

Individuals may also take part in Community Development Services or Employment Services during the day, in addition to activities within the home, creating a balanced and meaningful routine.

Activities are personalized and may include daily living skills, social and group activities, creative outlets, wellness activities, and personal time for rest and relaxation.

Yes. Bello Machre’s programs are intentionally structured to support individuals with sensory sensitivities or anxiety. We work closely with each individual and their support team to understand what helps them feel comfortable and successful. Our goal is to create environments where people feel safe, supported, and empowered to engage at their own pace while building confidence and independence.

Bello Machre offers community based programs that support adults with Fragile X syndrome in building skills, connections, and independence.

Community Development Services (CDS) focus on socialization, skill building, and community engagement through recreational, educational, and volunteer activities tailored to individual interests and goals.

Employment Support

Bello Machre offers Employment Services that support adults with Fragile X syndrome in exploring, obtaining, and maintaining meaningful work. Our employment supports are individualized and focus on each person’s interests, strengths, and career goals.

Employment services may include job exploration, skills training, career counseling, and assistance with transportation. Individuals also receive personalized job coaching, on-the-job support, and ongoing guidance to help them succeed in inclusive workplace environments.

Through our community-based employment services, Bello Machre supports adults with Fragile X syndrome and other developmental disabilities in building confidence, developing work skills, and achieving long-term employment success.

Person-Centered Care & Transitions

At Bello Machre, services are individualized by getting to know each person as a whole, not by focusing on a diagnosis. For individuals with Fragile X syndrome, we take time to understand strengths, interests, communication styles, and support needs so services reflect who they are and what matters most to them.

Supports are built collaboratively with the individual, their family, and their support team, and are adjusted over time as goals and needs evolve. Whether through residential, community, or employment services, our approach is flexible and responsive, with the goal of helping each person feel supported, confident, and empowered to live, grow, and thrive.

Bello Machre supports adults through transitions by taking a thoughtful, gradual, and individualized approach. We work closely with individuals, families, and support teams to understand goals, preferences, and support needs before a transition begins.

Transitions are planned at a pace that feels comfortable and may include visits, gradual participation, and ongoing communication to help build familiarity and confidence. Our team remains flexible and responsive throughout the process, adjusting supports as needed to ensure each individual feels supported, welcomed, and prepared for success in their new residential or community program.

Yes. Bello Machre works closely with families and support teams to help coordinate therapies and outside supports when appropriate. We value collaboration and communication, and we partner with providers such as therapists, healthcare professionals, and service coordinators to ensure supports are aligned and consistent.

Our team helps facilitate communication and coordination so individuals receive well-rounded support that complements their residential, community, or employment services.

Financial Assistance and Specialized Support

Services for individuals with Fragile X syndrome in Maryland are typically funded through the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). Individuals must first be determined eligible by DDA and, once approved, are connected with a Coordinator of Community Services (CCS) who helps guide service planning and funding options.

Funding may support Residential Services, Community Development Services, and Employment Services based on individual needs, goals, and available resources. Bello Machre works closely with individuals, families, and CCSs to help navigate this process and ensure services are aligned and well coordinated.

The Ray of Hope Program is Bello Machre’s financial assistance program designed to help individuals and families access needed supports when funding gaps exist. For individuals with Fragile X syndrome, the Ray of Hope program may help offset costs related to services, resources, or opportunities that support quality of life and personal growth.

Support through Ray of Hope is based on individual circumstances and availability and is intended to complement, not replace, other funding sources such as DDA services. Our goal is to reduce barriers and help ensure individuals can continue to live, grow, and thrive with the supports they need.

Getting Started with Services

To begin the admissions process, individuals, families, or Coordinators of Community Services (CCSs) are encouraged to contact Bello Machre’s Admissions team. Our team is happy to answer questions, review eligibility, and help guide next steps based on individual needs and goals.

Admissions typically involves confirming eligibility through the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and coordinating with a CCS, when applicable. From there, our team works closely with individuals, families, and support teams to explore available residential, community, or employment services.

To get started, we invite families and CCSs to visit our Admissions page or reach out to our team directly.
