BELLO MACHRE AWARDED $5,000 FROM NORTHROP GRUMMAN ECHO–EMPLOYEE CHARITY ORGANIZATION TO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND: Bello Machre was recently presented with a $5,000 check from the ECHO Group of Northrop Grumman Corporation to help provide loving care and supported emergency services to adults in one of its new fully accessible homes.

The Employees Charity Organization (ECHO) of Northrop Grumman, established in 1956, is a non-profit agency that provides a means for employees to support communities in which they live and work. By making contributions to the ECHO fund through payroll deductions, employees are able to support a wide variety of 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations within their communities. Northrop Grumman pays all administrative costs, ensuring that 100% of employees’ donations go directly to charity. ECHO supports a wide variety of charities throughout the United States and abroad.

“We are honored to be included in the ECHO giving mission,” said Dr. Robert T. Ireland, President and CEO of Bello Machre, a non-profit organization in Anne Arundel County, Maryland that provides homes and support to children, teens, adults, and seniors with developmental disabilities. “To be selected by the employees of one of the largest employers in our community is truly special. Their generous grant will have a huge impact helping us reach out to our most vulnerable individuals who are in desperate need of services.”

Bello Machre, founded in 1972, means Home of My Heart in Gaelic. It is a non-profit organization in Anne Arundel Country, Maryland that provides homes and support to children, teens, adults, and seniors with developmental disabilities. Its mission is to enrich the lives of those served through loving care, guidance, and opportunity so that they can live life to its fullest. Many of the people served live in its 56 community homes located throughout Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Bello Machre also provides help and support to hundreds of children and adults in their own homes. The Ray of Hope Program offers assistance with expenses such as specialized summer camp, physical therapy and adaptive equipment. Trained and caring staff also provides residential respite care, during family hospitalizations, emergencies, and vacations—24-hours a day – seven days a week. Bello Machre is there to help with whatever is needed, empowering people with developmental disabilities to live life to its fullest.
