Bello Machre Celebrates 39th Annual Golf Tournament

Anne Arundel County, MD. – September 25, 2023 – Bello Machre, a Maryland-based non-profit organization providing supports and services for people with developmental disabilities, celebrated their 39^th Annual Golf Tournament on September 13^th at the Queenstown Harbor Golf Course. The beautiful event which welcomed over 130 golfers raised over $145,000 in support for the individuals and families receiving services from Bello Machre.

“We are so appreciative of our amazing sponsors and partners from all parts of the community who come together in support of our mission,” shared Bello Machre President & CEO, Dr. Robert Ireland. “Our annual golf tournament is a such a wonderful opportunity for us to bring together those who have life-changing impact on the people we support.”

Bello Machre provides a lifetime of loving care and support for people with developmental disabilities thanks to the support from our wonderful sponsors. Lead Sponsors of the Golf Tournament included SCLogic and Tential who both made donations in the amount of $25,000 each towards the event.

Other very generous community partners include Skyline Technology Solutions donating $10,000 and Cattail Construction, and First National Bank each donating $5,000.

“Our annual golf tournament shows how many people not only care about the Bello Machre mission, but how many people make the effort to actively support what we do,” says Special Events & Volunteer Coordinator Alexis Jaynes. “It’s amazing seeing everyone laughing and having a great time while truly making a difference in the community. This event will always be more than a golf tournament.”

We could not have held this amazing community gathering without the support from our stellar volunteers and gracious vendors. Queenstown Harbor Golf Course provided our golfers with a clean and accommodating venue that everyone enjoyed throughout the day. Our delicious refreshments and post-golfing meal was made possible thanks to the talented staff of Salt & Pepper Barbecue Flipn’ Bowl. Our friends at ASAP Printing are responsible for the beautiful Bello Machre-branded coolers, shirts, signs, and many more items that were located around the golf course.

Bello Machre, founded in 1972, means home of my heart in Gaelic. It is a nonprofit organization with offices in Anne Arundel and Carroll Counties, MD, that provides a lifetime of loving care, beautiful wheelchair-accessible homes, and community support to people with developmental disabilities. Many of the people supported live in its 50 community homes located throughout Central Maryland as part of our Residential/ Group Home Services.

Bello Machre also provides Personal Supports Services to hundreds of children and adults in their own homes. Respite care is an add-on service to Personal Supports during family hospitalizations, emergencies, and vacations. Our caring staff is available during this time for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Meaningful Day Services provide community-based day services, plus supported employment for people with developmental disabilities. The Hertha and Jesse Adams Ray of Hope Program offers assistance with expenses such as specialized summer camps, physical therapy, and adaptive equipment.
