Bello Machre Launches Internal Nursing Department to Enhance Person-Centered Care
To strengthen our commitment to person-centered care, Bello Machre has launched its own Nursing Department. By bringing nursing services in-house, we’re enhancing the consistency, timeliness, and quality of care for people with developmental disabilities — and providing added support for the dedicated staff who care for them every day.
Maryland – (July 22, 2025) — Bello Machre is proud to announce the launch of its own Nursing Department, a pivotal step in strengthening the organization’s ability to deliver consistent, compassionate, and person-centered care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
For years, Bello Machre has partnered with a contracted provider to meet its nursing needs. Building on a strong foundation, Bello Machre is evolving its approach to further enhance the timeliness and consistency of care by bringing nursing services in-house. The change allows Bello Machre to better support the people it serves as well as the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who care for them every day.
“Having nursing professionals as part of our team will allow us to provide more comprehensive, person-centered, and timely care,” says Dr. Robert Ireland, President and CEO of Bello Machre. “It will also ensure that all of our team members receive the added guidance and proactive support needed to continue delivering the outstanding care that defines Bello Machre.”
The decision to establish an in-house department was shaped by the organization’s ongoing commitment to health, safety, and excellence across all programs and services. By integrating licensed nursing professionals directly into its team, Bello Machre will be positioned to proactively address medical needs, enhance training and guidance for staff, and improve the overall continuity of care for the individuals and families it supports.
Development of the department is launching from a strong foundation, with key leadership in place and a robust nursing team already assembled. Bello Machre will continue to share updates as the department begins providing care across its programs.
This initiative represents more than a change in operations — it’s a reaffirmation of Bello Machre’s promise to deliver a lifetime of loving care and opportunity.
