ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND: Bello Machre is pleased to announce it will receive a $25K grant from Phillips Charitable Foundation to help fund its Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program for 2019.
Dr. Robert Ireland comments, “We can’t thank Phillips Charitable Foundation enough for their extremely generous gift. This funding grant will help to train and develop our current employees to be confident in their abilities to provide outstanding care to the people we support.”
Bello Machre’s current 110-hour Certified Nursing Assistant course will begin on March 11th. The Spring 2019 CNA Class graduation ceremony will take place mid-April.

Phillips Charitable Foundation, Inc. is a private charitable foundation founded in 2016 by Eileen Gross at the request of Howard W. Phillips Jr. Mr. Phillips was a 1944 graduate of Landon School and a 1950 graduate of Lehigh University. He remained an active and engaged Alumni for both institutions until he passed away in November 2016. He was successful in business, leading the second generation of his family’s business ventures in insurance and real estate investments. He was smart, generous, and driven. He had a love for history and collected many historical treasures throughout his lifetime. He had a talent for solving problems which contributed to his business success.
2018 marks the inaugural year for Phillips Charitable Foundation grants. Like Howard Phillips Jr., they focus on solving problems. Their mission is to support charitable organizations that provide a genuine impact in the lives of others by solving problems, removing obstacles, and leading to lasting solutions. They target problems where government interventions are not sufficient and economic and educational markets have failed to bring solutions. Through their grant giving they aim to bring measurable improvements in the prosperity, health, and vitality of people and communities.
About Bello Machre
Bello Machre, founded in 1972, means Home of My Heart in Gaelic. It is a non-profit organization with offices in Anne Arundel and Carroll Counties, MD, that provides a lifetime of loving care, beautiful wheelchair-accessible homes, and in-home support to people with developmental disabilities. Many of the people supported live in its 60 community homes located throughout Central Maryland. Bello Machre also provides personalized care and support to hundreds of children and adults in their own homes. The Hertha and Jesse Adams Ray of Hope Program offers assistance with expenses such as specialized summer camp, physical therapy, and adaptive equipment. The Bello Machre Meaningful Day Program provides vocational and community-based adult day services, supported employment, and/or recreational, education, and social opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Trained and caring staff provides residential respite care during family hospitalizations, emergencies, and vacations—24-hours a day – seven days a week. Bello Machre is there to help with what is needed, empowering people with developmental disabilities to live life to its fullest.
