Bello Machre Celebrates 40 Years of Community Support at Annual Golf Tournament

Anne Arundel County, MD. – September 23rd, 2024– Bello Machre, a Maryland-based non-profit organization providing supports and services for people with developmental disabilities, celebrated their 40th Annual Golf Tournament on September 11th at the Queenstown Harbor Golf Course. The beautiful event, which hosted over 140 golfers, successfully raised over $140,000 to support the individuals and families of Bello Machre.
“We are incredibly grateful for all of our dedicated community sponsors who help us create a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve,” shared Bello Machre President & CEO, Dr. Robert Ireland. “Our Annual Golf Tournament stands as a staple in Bello Machre’s history now spanning over 40 years. It has not only raised vital funds for our programs but also fostered a strong sense of community and connection among our amazing supporters.”
Bello Machre provides lifelong, compassionate support for people with developmental disabilities, all made possible by the support of our fantastic sponsors. A big thank you to our Lead Sponsors, SCLogic and Tential, who each donated $25,000 to our Golf Tournament.
Other generous community partners include Cattail Construction who donated $7,500 along with Absolute Fire Protection, The Murray McGehrin Group, Shore United Bank, and Skyline Technology Solutions each contributing $5,000.
“Our annual golf tournament truly showcases the amazing spirit of our community partners,” says Development Director, Tracy Lynott. “It’s so special to see everyone having fun together while supporting the Bello Machre mission. This event is all about coming together for a common purpose and making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.”
We could not have held this amazing community gathering without the support from our stellar volunteers and gracious vendors. Queenstown Harbor Golf Course provided our golfers with a clean and accommodating venue that everyone enjoyed throughout the day. Our delicious refreshments and post-golfing meal was made possible thanks to the talented staff of Salt & Pepper Barbecue Flipn’ Bowl. Our friends at ASAP Printing are responsible for the beautiful Bello Machre-branded coolers, shirts, signs, and many more items that were located around the golf course. About Bello Machre
Bello Machre, founded in 1972, means “home of my heart” in Gaelic. It is a non-profit organization with offices in Anne Arundel and Carroll Counties, MD, that provides a lifetime of loving care, beautiful wheelchair-accessible homes, and community support to people living in its 50 community homes located throughout Central Maryland as part of our Residential/Group Home Services.
Bello Machre also provides Personal Supports Services to hundreds of children and adults in their own homes. Respite care is an add-on services to Personal Supports during family hospitalizations, emergencies, and vacations. Our caring staff is available during this time for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Meaningful Day Services provide community-based day services, plus employment services for people with developmental disabilities. The Hertha and Jesse Adams Ray of Hope Program offers assistance with expenses such as specialized summer camps, physical therapy, and adaptive equipment. Bello Machre is here to help, empowering people with developmental disabilities to live life to its fullest.
