Bello Machre’s Personal Supports and Employment Services help Hannah Thrive
Bello Machre is helping Hannah reach her goal of helping others with developmental disabilities. Through our Personal Supports and Meaningful Day Services, Hannah holds purposeful employment in the community and pursues her passion of helping others.
Supporting Hannah with life’s transition
As a child, Hannah was diagnosed with Turner syndrome, resulting when one of the X chromosomes is missing or partially missing. The condition can lead to heart issues and other physical impairments, as well as developmental disabilities.
With the support of a loving and nurturing family, she navigated school and graduated from a post-secondary program at 21 years old. When Hannah completed school, her parents were worried about her future and the transition to adulthood.
Her mom, Lynn, says, “I didn’t know what the future would bring. I didn’t want her to get stuck in a situation that would crush her incredible spirit. We wanted Hannah to find a job that made her heart happy every day. Then we found Bello Machre.”
Hannah chimes in, “When I met the people at Bello Machre, I knew that was it! Everyone treated me like any other person figuring out what I wanted to do in life.”
Helping developmentally disabled peers advocate for themselves
Since 2019, Bello Machre has offered Hannah Personal Supports and Meaningful Day Services.
When she first started receiving services through Bello Machre, Hannah made it abundantly clear that one of her top goals was to help other people with disabilities and make the world better. From there, Bello Machre’s Employment Services began connecting her with local internships and opportunities to do just that. She was able to gain valuable experience in her dream profession and made connections that would help her open up limitless opportunities.
In fact, Hannah works for Bello Machre’s Peer-to-Peer Abuse and Neglect Training Program, where she helps other individuals find their voice and feel comfortable speaking up for themselves.
Assisting Hannah find meaningful employment in the community
Hannah’s journey towards a career in advocacy doesn’t stop there. Recently, she began a paid position with community partner Moonlit Acres Retreat Farm, a retreat farm in Carroll County for the neurodiverse community. She serves on the Board of Directors and is training to become a Peer-to-Peer support staff member.

The entire Bello Machre team is ecstatic for Hannah and her impressive accomplishments! Bello Machre’s Employment Services will continue to stay by Hannah’s side throughout the entirety of her employment journey, offering support wherever it may be needed.
