Achieving Dreams: Tyler’s Journey with Personal Supports
Learn how Tyler, a member of our Personal Supports Services, navigates his educational journey and community exploration with assistance from Bello Machre.
In March, we celebrated Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. Our theme was “Exploring Dreams and Personal Goals,” and as part of our celebration, we highlighted Tyler!
Tyler is a member of our Personal Supports Services and currently attends Anne Arundel Community College where he is studying to receive his Associates Degree!
Bello Machre has helped Tyler explore the community and the exciting opportunities that he is interested in.
“With my visual impairment, I cannot drive or otherwise transport myself to places, such as Anne Arundel Community College for school, go to the gym to work out, study, play cards, or grab something to eat,” explains Tyler. “Bello Machre’s Personal Supports have allowed me to pursue these activities because I have a personal supports assistant staff member who can transport me. Without this transportation, I cannot reliably commute to school or other places of interest.”
Recently, Tyler had the opportunity to speak with the Severna Park Voice about his relationship with Bello Machre and how our services have helped him grow and explore his dreams.
