Offering a Broad Range of Services to Support People with Down Syndrome
Personal Supports
Bello Machre DSPs offer individuals with Down Syndrome one-on-one support to participate in community-based activities. DSPs also assist in the home to help individuals meet their goals, whether they relate to independent living, higher education, or personal projects. Respite Care offers caregivers a short-term break.
Meaningful Day
Meaningful Day Programs are community-based programs to help your loved one age 21 and older with Down Syndrome meet their personal and professional goals. Individuals are integral to choosing which social, recreational, educational, and/or employment opportunities they want to explore.
Residential Group Homes in Maryland
Our residential services provide seniors and adults with Down Syndrome safe, welcoming group homes in Maryland. With small community living of three to four residents and live-in caregiver support, each home fosters independence, friendship, and personal growth.
Independent Living, Employment, and Learning for Individuals with Down Syndrome
Through Personal Supports Services, Bello Machre works with individuals with Down Syndrome to learn independent living skills such as meal prep, cooking, doing laundry, driving, navigating public transportation, and budgeting. Bello Machre’s Community Services enrich the lives of individuals with Down Syndrome through community activities promoting personal and professional growth. Small groups of two to three other individuals with shared interests and activity levels determine how they’ll spend their days. Activities might include fitness, yoga, healthy eating, social club, arts and crafts, volunteer opportunities, and more. Bello Machre helps individuals with Down Syndrome secure employment opportunities and build careers through job coaching, job development, and on-site training and support.
Spotlight on Career Development for Individuals with Down Syndrome
When Kelly Sigmon, who has Down Syndrome, realized she wanted to start her own business, Ashlie Pack, a Job Coach through Bello Machre’s Meaningful Day Services, helped Kelly get her company up and running. Through logo design, event planning, and overall business organization, Ashlie helped Kelly launch Kelly’s Homemades, which sells all-natural bath bombs, sugar scrubs, body butters, and much more.
Person-Centered Disability Services for Individuals with Down Syndrome
Bello Machre believes all people deserve the services and support to enjoy a full, independent, rich life. Our Ray of Hope program helps individuals with Down Syndrome and other developmental disabilities bridge funding gaps in care plan funding, including therapies, adaptive equipment, and inclusive activities.
