Loving Care and Support for People with Down Syndrome
Serving Individuals with Down Syndrome Throughout Their Lifetimes
Bello Machre Serves Individuals with Down Syndrome Across All Age Groups
Bello Machre provides children, seniors and adults with Down Syndrome access to the people, programs, and services required for a lifetime of loving care. We focus on the individual and their desired outcomes – not their diagnosis. Core to our approach is the conviction that there is no limit to what individuals with Down Syndrome can do. Whether they aim to secure a driver’s license, build a career, or learn independent living skills, Bello Machre works with individuals every step of the way until they reach their goals.
Offering a Broad Range of Services to Support People with Down Syndrome
Personal Supports
Bello Machre DSPs offer individuals with Down Syndrome one-on-one support to participate in community-based activities. DSPs also assist in the home to help individuals meet their goals, whether they relate to independent living, higher education, or personal projects. Respite Care offers caregivers a short-term break.
Meaningful Day
Meaningful Day Programs are community-based programs to help your loved one age 21 and older with Down Syndrome meet their personal and professional goals. Individuals are integral to choosing which social, recreational, educational, and/or employment opportunities they want to explore.
Down Syndrome Residential Group Homes
Our residential services ensure seniors and adults with down syndrome have a secure group home in which they can feel safe and loved. Live-in caregivers support small community living with three to four people in each Bello Machre-owned home. Everyone has the opportunity to grow, develop and live life to the fullest.
Independent Living, Employment, and Learning for Individuals with Down Syndrome
Through Personal Supports Services, Bello Machre works with individuals with Down Syndrome to learn independent living skills such as meal prep, cooking, doing laundry, driving, navigating public transportation, and budgeting. Bello Machre’s Meaningful Day Services enrich the lives of individuals with Down Syndrome through community activities promoting personal and professional growth. Small groups of two to three other individuals with shared interests and activity levels determine how they’ll spend their days. Activities might include fitness, yoga, healthy eating, social club, arts and crafts, volunteer opportunities, and more. Bello Machre helps individuals with Down Syndrome secure employment opportunities and build careers through job coaching, job development, and on-site training and support.
Spotlight on Career Development for Individuals with Down Syndrome
When Kelly Sigmon, who has Down Syndrome, realized she wanted to start her own business, Ashlie Pack, a Job Coach through Bello Machre’s Meaningful Day Services, helped Kelly get her company up and running. Through logo design, event planning, and overall business organization, Ashlie helped Kelly launch Kelly’s Homemades, which sells all-natural bath bombs, sugar scrubs, body butters, and much more.
Bello Machre’s Commitment to Person-Centered Care and Support
Bello Machre believes all people deserve the services and support to enjoy a full, independent, rich life. Through programs such as Ray of Hope, Bello Machre’s support teams helps individuals with Down Syndrome bridge gaps in care plan funding, including anything from summer camp and therapy to medications and adaptive equipment.
