A Young Boy’s Surprise for Christmas
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND: Through the Bello Machre Ray of Hope Program and three local businesses, Zack had an early Christmas surprise. With donated funds from Corporate Brokers (Annapolis, MD), Annapolis Civitan #177 (Annapolis, MD), and Dr. Denis Markoff-Landolf with Federal Hill Smiles (Baltimore, MD) Bello Machre purchased a specialized tricycle for Zack.
This specialized therapeutic tricycle helps Zack with his leg motion and coordination. After a traumatic brain injury three years ago, Zack is continuing to thrive and progress through therapy and special education.
Thanks to the help of our wonderful community partners, Zack’s Christmas wish came true. His very own bike! Zack can now participate in an activity that every young child enjoys – riding his bike in the neighborhood. His mom, Angie Beswick, commented “I’m so thankful to Bello Machre and all of the people who made this an unforgettable Christmas for Zack. Everyone’s generosity means so much to us.”
This gift would not be possible if it were not for our community partners. Thank you so much for making this Christmas special for Zack and his family.
Bello Machre, founded in 1972, means Home of My Heart in Gaelic. It is a non-profit organization in Anne Arundel Country, Maryland that provides homes and support to children, teens, adults, and seniors with developmental disabilities. Its mission is to enrich the lives of those served through loving care, guidance, and opportunity so that they can live life to its fullest. Many of the people served live in its 54 community homes located throughout Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Bello Machre also provides help and support to hundreds of children and adults in their own homes. The Ray of Hope Program offers assistance with expenses such as specialized summer camp, physical therapy, and adaptive equipment. Trained and caring staff also provides residential respite care during family hospitalizations, emergencies, and vacations—24-hours a day – seven days a week. Bello Machre is there to help with whatever is needed, empowering people with developmental disabilities to live life to its fullest.
